RIVERTON, Utah, May 16, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 10-year-old girl who was taken to an area hospital after an ATV-auto collision has been upgraded from critical to stable condition.

Unified Police Department Lt. Lex Bell said the accident happened at about 8 p.m. Monday night at 12172 S. Margaret Park Drive (1290 West).

“A small silver passenger car was pulling into their driveway, and was hit by a four-wheeler that was traveling at a high rate of speed, and was unable to stop,” Bell said.

“The four people on that four-wheeler were thrown. All were wearing helmets. A 13-year-old male was driving three 10-year-old girls.”

The boy, in serious condition, and one girl, in critical condition and with broken bones, were transported to a hospital.

“They are now both stable and expected to recover,” Bell said.

All children involved were from the immediate neighborhood.

The ATV, a small Honda made in 1986, should not have been on the road, Bell said. It also should not have been driven by anyone without a license, he added. A crash reconstruction team was expected to be on scene for several hours, Bell said.
