Employee Of Downtown Coffee Shop Finds Burglar In Basement

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 21, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — An employee of a downtown coffee shop found a burglar in the basement when she arrived for work early Thursday morning, police said.

A news release from Salt Lake City Police Department said the burglary took place just after 5:30 a.m. at the Rose Establishment at 235 S. 400 West.

The news release said: “A female employee of The Rose coffee shop arrived to work and noticed the back door had been damaged. She contacted the owner by phone while hearing noises coming from the basement.

“The employee exited the store as police were called. Officers were able to stop the suspect as he was leaving the area.”

Joel Grossi, 31, was booked into jail for burglary.
