Roy police car hit by suspected DUI driver

ROY, Utah, Nov. 17, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A Roy City patrol car was struck by a suspected DUI driver Friday night, and sustained serious damage.

The officer assigned to the car was standing nearby, and was not injured.

“While assisting with a traffic accident at I-84 and Riverdale Road, a Roy City patrol car was struck and sustained significant damage,” a Facebook post by the Roy City Police Department says.

“The officer was not in the vehicle at the time the vehicle was hit. The female driver of the other vehicle was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.”

Riverdale Road was shut down for several hours due to the initial accident and the second involving the Roy City Police car.
