Roy Police Department posts lip sync challenge medley

ROY, Utah, Sept. 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Roy City Police Department has posted its version of the lip sync challenge, choosing a medley of songs to mime along to.

The department lip syncs along to “Regulate” by Warren G, “Danger Zone,” by Kenny Loggins, from the movie “Top Gun,” “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge and “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake. The video was published on YouTube Monday and, as of Tuesday morning, has some 10,000 views.

Police departments from around the country have been challenging one another to lip sync battles this summer. Some of their videos have gone viral, such as the one showing the Norfolk (Virginia) Police Department’s rendition of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk.” That video now has more than one million views on YouTube.

Other police departments began posting in June, challenging one another to see who had the best routine.

Salt Lake City Police Department employees lip synced along to Miley Cyrus’ hit song “Wrecking Ball,” while Weber County Sheriff’s Office employees lip synced to the county song “Homegrown” by the Zac Brown band. Murray Police Department chose to mime to “Workin'” by James the Mormon featuring David Archuleta. Those lip sync videos are below.
