Roy police seek robbery suspect after assault at Winegars

ROY, Utah, Oct. 28, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials are searching for a suspect who assaulted an employee after robbing Winegars in Roy.

Roy City Police Department posted on Facebook the theft occurred at the grocery store at 3440 W. 4800 South Saturday at around noon.

“The male assaulted an employee and fled the scene on foot,” the post said. “He may have been with a Hispanic female on a bicycle. Possibly visiting or lives in the nearby area.”

Officials did not say what the suspect stole.

He is described as being between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, and in surveillance photographs, has black hair and is wearing sunglasses, a gray or white shirt and black shorts with a brown belt.
