Southern Utah Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Mesquite Stabbing

MESQUITE, Nev., July 12, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A La Verkin, Utah man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a Sunday morning stabbing outside a Mesquite, Nev. nightclub.

The Mesquite Police Department told Gephardt Daily that Jason Reynolds, 40, turned himself in to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office after learning he was wanted by Nevada authorities.

Police say Reynolds repeatedly stabbed another man during a fight outside the Envy Nightclub at 792 W. Pioneer Blvd. around 1:30 a.m. Sunday before fleeing to Utah.

The victim — whose identity has yet to be released — was found by a Mesquite police officer who was on a routine patrol. The gravely wounded man was flown by medical helicopter to University Medical Center in Las Vegas in serious condition.

Reynolds is currently being held in the Purgatory Correctional Facility in Washington County while awaiting extradition to Nevada.
