SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 22, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Salt Lake City man was arrested Sunday for allegedly owning and trading lurid photos of children.

A probable cause statement from the 3rd District Court of Salt Lake County said Justin Daniel Jadin, 19, is facing a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

The Salt Lake City Police Department was tipped off that Jadin, who was living in an apartment in the area of 300 S. 500 East in Salt Lake City, was in possession of multiple images of child pornography, the statement said.

“A search warrant was executed on the residence and Jadin and his phone were taken into custody,” the statement said. “Subsequent investigation revealed that Jadin was in possession of numerous images of child pornography and had secreted them in an online Dropbox folder that was visible on his phone.”

After being read his Miranda rights, Jadin admitted to knowingly possessing child pornography, and said he had been seeking images of child pornography online for the last five years, trading the images with others that were seeking child pornography.

“Jadin admitted to knowing the girls in the photos were under the age of 18, with the youngest to his knowledge being 12 years of age,” the statement said “I viewed the images and there are numerous images of girls that are clearly less than 18 years of age.”

Jadin was transported to the Salt Lake County Jail with his bail set at $10,000.
