UINTAH COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 8, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A Salt Lake City man was booked into Uintah County Jail on Monday, following an incident that began in Salt Lake and ended in Tridell.

The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office said Domingo Diego Jose, 27, was arrested and booked into the Uintah County Jail, where he faces charges of aggravated kidnapping and child kidnapping.

According to a UCSO news release, Central Dispatch started receiving 911 calls from a woman who “sounded in distress.” Before dispatchers could get much information from her, she would hang up.

“Dispatchers continued trying to make contact with the female and through several short contacts was able to obtain bits and pieces of information from the woman,” the release states. “The woman didn’t know where she was, but believed she was somewhere around Vernal.”

Deputies began searching various areas in Uintah County trying to find the woman, and as more information came in, they were led to a location in Tridell.

A BIA police officer who was assisting made contact with Jose and the woman at a residence, and Jose was immediately taken into custody, the release states.

The woman and a small child who was with her were transported to a hospital.

The sheriff’s office said deputies investigated and learned that the woman was assaulted by Jose in Salt Lake City and then she and her small child were brought to a residence in Tridell. The news release says the woman tried getting away from Jose at one point, but was unsuccessful.

Jose remains in the Uintah County Jail on $300,000 cash bail.
