Salt Lake City police deploy Taser on man who allegedly resisted arrest

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 5, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake police officials deployed a Taser on a man who allegedly resisted arrest Monday evening.

The suspect was identified as Daniel Taylor, 28, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release. Taylor was taken to jail and booked for warrants, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.

The news release said the incident occurred in the area of 331 E. South Temple just before 6:15 p.m.

“Officers responded on an intoxicated male,” the news release said. “After checking to make sure the subject was not experiencing a medical issue officers attempted to identify the subject. The subject would not give his name and when officers attempted to arrest him he resisted.”

Taylor pulled away from officers and began to run, the news release said. A Taser was successfully deployed and he was taken into custody without further incident.
