SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 19, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police and Metro Gang Unit officers responded Saturday morning to a call of shots fired.

Officers were sent at 3 a.m. to the scene, a residence in the area of 1800 West and 700 North.

“A 17-year-old girl was hit, I think in the arm,” Lt. Russ Amott, Salt Lake City Police Department, told Gephardt Daily. “She went to the hospital with a very minor injury, and was treated and released.”

The girl was not a member of the resident family, Amott said. Those who remained on scene did not have a lot to say, he added.

“Not a whole lot of people were cooperative or wanted to talk about what took place,” Amott said.

Several bullet casings were found, and one window had been shot and broken, Amott said. Investigators believed that at least two vehicles, a car and a truck, were involved with the shots fired, he said.
