SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 1, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are investigating a stabbing that took place Tuesday night near the shelter in downtown Salt Lake.
Officers were called at about 8 p.m., after a man with stab wounds turned up at the shelter on Rio Grande Street.
“He was a male adult who had been stabbed in the torso,” Lt. Mike Hatch, of the Salt Lake City Police Department, told Gephardt Daily.
“He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, with non-life-threatening injuries.”
Hatch added: “We’re still working to figure out exactly what happened, but it looks like it was probably a personal thing between him and whoever stabbed him. We haven’t had any other incidents like this tonight.”
The suspect is described as Caucasian, short in stature, last seen wearing tan pants, a green shirt, a black coat and a white hat.
Gephardt Daily will follow up on this developing story as more information becomes available.
