Salt Lake City Police looking for driver who struck pedestrian, fled scene

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 4, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police are looking for the driver who hit a man and then took off, leaving the injured victim in the street.

Salt Lake City Police Lt. Gary Trost said the incident occurred at about 3 a.m. Sunday in the area of 132 S. 1400 West.

The injured man was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition, but was later upgraded to fair condition, Trost said.

The incident is under investigation, and the police would like to find the driver who fled.

Trost said the suspect vehicle is a dark gray, newer model Ford Explorer with a Real Salt Lake sticker.
