SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 17, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials have located a man who briefly held his wife hostage in Salt Lake City Monday.
Police were called to Jefferson School Apartments at 1099 S. West Temple just after 10:20 a.m. on a report of a man with a gun, according to Salt Lake City Police Department Sgt. Keith Horrocks.
Officers arriving on scene learned a man had briefly held his wife hostage in their apartment, but she had managed to break free and was uninjured.
The man then allegedly kicked a neighbor’s door in, Horrocks said.
It was then believed he may have gone back inside his apartment, as no one saw him leave.
Part of the apartment complex was evacuated, Horrocks said.
As it turned out, the man had left the scene, and was found outside Salt Lake City.
After it was verified that it was the man in question, officers went into the apartment with the wife to clear the scene. Residents were then able to return to their homes.
The identity of the suspect has not been released.
