Salt Lake City police seek help identifying suspect in carjacking case

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 16, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City Police officials are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person wanted in connection with a carjacking.

“We need to locate and identify this person,” an SLCPD social media post says. “He is a person of interest in a carjacking that occurred today. We are also looking for the stolen gray 2001 Honda Odyssey UT plate W054VG. Case #19-86814 #Carjacking#Suspect.”

A follow-up statement issued Friday by the SLCPD says that the carjacking happened at 2100 S. Green St.

“The victim was stopped in her vehicle to make a turn when a male approached, opened her door and forced her out of the van. The male entered the vehicle and drove off with the victims 3-year-old child still inside. A short time later the child was found near 950 S. West Temple Street.

“The suspect is described as a white adult male, 30-35 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a skinny build and shaved head. The vehicle, a gray 2001 Honda Odyssey with Utah plate W054VG, is still outstanding.”
