Update: Salt Lake City police take suspect into custody after alleged domestic violence assault

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 7, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police have taken a suspect into custody following an alleged domestic violence assault Tuesday night.

“Our officers are currently trying to contact a suspect near Hudson Avenue and Crandall Avenue following a domestic violence assault,” said a tweet from Salt Lake City Police Department at 8:20 p.m.

“We ask neighbors in the immediate area to remain inside as this situation unfolds.”

An update just after 9:45 p.m. said: “Based on the preliminary investigation, we issued a reverse 911 alert for neighbors living within a half-mile radius of this incident. We are continuing our efforts to contact the suspect and ask neighbors to avoid the area and stay inside.”

A final update just after 10:35 p.m. said: “After the suspect exited the residence, SWAT personnel immediately started having a conversation with him. As a result of their efforts, officers safely took the suspect into custody.”
