SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 27, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police are searching for a suspect after a robbery at a post office Thursday afternoon.

Salt Lake City Police Department Lt. Mike Hatch told Gephardt Daily the robbery happened at a USPS Post Office at 2100 S. 1760 West at approximately 5:15 p.m.

A man wearing a mask entered the post office and demanded money; no weapon was seen, Hatch said.

After the suspect received an unknown amount of money, he fled, but at this time police do not known in what direction he ran.

Hatch said investigators are in the process of pulling surveillance footage from surrounding businesses to glean more information about the suspect. The only description of him at this time is that he is likely Caucasian or Hispanic.
