Sandy Police Looking To Identify Suspect In Armed Bank Robbery

SANDY, Utah, June 13, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed bank robbery Friday afternoon in Sandy.

Sandy City Police Sgt. Dean Carriger said the suspect entered the Zions Bank located at 2137 E. 9400 South at about 2:40 p.m. He approached a teller at the counter with a black handgun and demanded money.

The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money and left in a gray Nissan Altima eastbound on 9400 South.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s with a thin build. He was wearing a black ski mask, sunglasses, black pants, black shoes, and a black shirt with gray and orange stripe across the chest.

Surveillance photos have been released in an effort to help identify the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Sandy City Police at 801-568-INFO (4636).
