Sandy police seek public’s help identifying armed robbery suspects

SANDY, Utah, Oct. 5, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects in at least one armed robbery that was committed early Friday morning.

According to a news release from Sandy Police Department, officers received information about armed robberies at convenience stores in Midvale and West Jordan.

At about 4:30 a.m., a Sandy officer went to a 7-Eleven in the area of 7800 South and 700 East, in case the suspects from the robberies in Midvale and West Jordan would try to rob the Sandy store.

When the officer arrived at the 7-Eleven, the clerk came out and told him the store had just been robbed one to two minutes earlier.

“The information received is that two men entered the 7-Eleven located at 7825 S
700 E.,” the news release states. “The store clerk approached the two men, and they both brandished black handguns. The suspects demanded money from the clerk. The clerk opened the register and one of the suspects took the money from the register.”

The release goes on to say that both suspects fled in a vehicle, but the type of vehicle and the direction of travel are unknown.

The suspects are described as African-American men in their mid-20s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall.

One was wearing a dark blue jacket with the hood pulled up and a red bandanna covering his face, tan pants, and red shoes.

The other was wearing a black jacket with the hood pulled up, a white bandanna over his face, black workout/sweat pants with a white stripe, and black shoes with white
shoe laces.
