SANDY, Utah, April 27, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Sandy are looking for two suspects who robbed a Sandy gas station Wednesday at gunpoint.

Sandy City Police spokesman Sgt. Dean Carriger said in a news release that at 7:15 a.m., a white male robbed the Sandy Stop Gas Station at 7820 S. 700 East. A Hispanic female drove the getaway truck, the statement said.

Carriger said the suspect entered the business and approached the clerk at the counter.

The suspect then brandished a handgun and demanded money. He received an undisclosed amount of money, and fled the business to a waiting truck being driven by the woman.

The suspect is described as in his mid 40s and wearing a plaid flannel shirt.

Carriger said the truck was described as a late ’90s white Ford F150 pickup with an elk horns sticker centered on the rear window. He said the front driver’s side wheel did not match the other wheels, and it may have been a spare tire.

If anyone has any information on the suspect they can contact Sandy Police Department TIP-LINE at 801-568-INFO (4636).
