ST. GEORGE, Utah, July 14, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Santa Clara woman was arrested for alleged prostitution during a sting operation Thursday.

A probable cause statement from the 5th District Court of St. George said Janice Trujillo, 33, is charged with prostitution, a class B misdemeanor and license required; massage practice, a class A misdemeanor.

On July 11, investigators responded to an ad posted online advertising to provide massages in the St. George area, the probable cause statement said.

“A female, later identified as Janice Trujillo, responded to a text the undercover officers sent to the phone number listed in the ad and agreed to provide a massage in exchange for money,” the statement said. “Janice was given a specific hotel to respond to in order to meet up and perform the massage. Once at the hotel, Janice was given the hotel room.”

When Trujillo went to the room, the undercover officer provided her with the money in exchange for the massage. While performing the massage, Trujillo also agreed to perform a specific sex act.

Trujillo was arrested and after being read her Miranda rights, she denied having a massage license. Trujillo was booked into the Washington County Jail with her bail set at $2,630.

Trujillo was already out on probation or parole, officials said.
