UPDATE: Man Who Drowned During Family Outing At Blackridge Reservoir In Herriman Identified

HERRIMAN, Utah, June 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified a 31-year-old man who drowned while swimming Saturday at Blackridge Reservoir in Herriman.

It appears the drowning of Penoni Mounga, from Kearns, was a “tragic accident,” according to Unified Police Department spokesman Lt. Lex Bell.

ming hole at 15000 S. Ashland Ridge Dr. about 3:40 p.m. after distraught family members reported a relative had gone underwater and did not resurface.

First responders formed a search grid and after 90 minutes recovered the man’s body 30 feet from shore in about 15 feet of water, not far from where he had last been seen.

Investigators say there were no signs of foul play.
