CACHE COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials are searching for a Cache County Jail inmate who stole a pickup truck and drove away from a work project for inmates who have a history of good behavior.

A news release from Cache County Sheriff’s Office said inmate Joshua Michael Aders, 32, was at the American West Heritage Center Farm in Wellsville, Thursday morning.

“He was working as part of a Community Work Project where inmates that have a history of good behavior are allowed to volunteer,” the news release said. “During this work shift, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Mr. Aders stole a pickup truck and drove away.”

The search is underway for Aders, the news release said. He was last seen in the Wellsville area. He is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and 160 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair. Aders was last seen wearing black and white striped trousers, a fluorescent green T-shirt and black lace-up boots.

The pickup truck he stole is a 2005 white Ford Ranger with an orange caution light on top of the cab, a diamond plated toolbox in the bed, and Utah license plate D450Y.

Aders was scheduled to be released from jail in May 2019, after serving a sentence on charges of fraud, theft, failure to appear warrants, and drug-related crimes. Before recently moving to Utah, Aders was a resident of California.

Anyone that comes into contact with Aders should call 911. Anyone with information regarding the inmate should contact law enforcement by dialing 911 or CCSO at 435-753-7555.
