Update: Hunter missing in Davis County found safe

DAVIS COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 30, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Davis County Search and Rescue said Sunday morning a 19-year-old man who got separated from his father while hunting and was last heard from at noon Saturday has been located.

Mason Bakker, who has Asperger’s, was last seen in the area of Parrish Flats in the Forest Service area above Centerville, according to a Facebook post from the Davis County Sheriff’s Office. The search for Bakker began Saturday afternoon and continued early Sunday morning.

At 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Davis County officials posted on Facebook: “Found him safe. Hunters found our missing person. Cold and wet but doing great. Thanks for all the help. Awesome response.”

Bakker was given fluids and was able to walk out from where he was located.

Officials have not yet said exactly where Bakker was found.
