Search underway for Texas woman reported missing in Grand Canyon

GRAND CANYON, Ariz., Aug. 2, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A search is underway in Grand Canyon National Park for Sarah Beadle, 38, of Fort Worth, Texas.

Beadle was hiking to the Phantom Ranch/Bright Angel Campground area, where she had reservations for Tuesday, but she did not arrive.

Her backpack was found near the junction of the South Kaibab Trail and the River Trail on Tuesday evening.

Beadle was hiking with two children, ages 10 and 11. The children are safe, officials said.

Beadle is an experienced hiker and backpacker according to several sources. She is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and 130 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
