WEST VALLEY CITY – Nov. 18 (Gephardt Daily) ─ The truck was a total loss, but the semi driver escaped injury in an engine fire on Wednesday.

Jeff Fox, West Valley City Fire Department battalion chief, said the driver, whose name was not immediately available, had his truck idling at Godfrey Trucking, 6173 West 2100 South, when the engine began to smoke.

“We had a semi truck that caught fire, and we are investigating to see what the cause was,” Fox said.

“It’s a total loss. There was no trailer involved, so there was no product inside. The driver was not injured.”
