MARYSVALE, Utah, May 5, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The driver of a semi was injured when the truck he was driving overturned on SR-89 in Sevier County Thursday morning.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said the accident happened just after 7 a.m. outside of Marysville at milepost 188 when, for an unknown reason, a truck carrying live turkeys tipped over onto the guardrail.

“The driver of the truck was air-lifted in critical condition to the hospital,” Royce said. “We do not suspect his injuries are life-threatening. He has a few broken bones and other serious injuries.”

Royce said the road delays will most likely continue through 1 p.m. as they have to transfer the turkeys from one hauler to another. He was uncertain whether any turkeys were injured.
