Semi loses brakes, plows into storage buildings in Garden City

GARDEN CITY, Utah, Aug. 15, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A semi driver was injured Thursday afternoon after his vehicle lost its brakes and crashed into storage buildings in Garden City.

The crash occurred on northbound U.S. Highway 89 at mile marker 499 in the Raspberry Square area of Garden City, said a tweet from the Utah Highway Patrol at 5 p.m.

“The semi lost its brakes as it approached the intersection and drove into some storage buildings,” the tweet said. “This one will take some time to clean up.”

The driver sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital.

Garden City is a town in northwestern Rich County on the shores of Bear Lake.
