SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 19, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake City Police Department has arrested a man that has been linked to multiple robberies in cities from Layton to Provo.

Bret Michael Edmunds, 41, has been linked to incidents involving both businesses and banks, according to a news release from the SLCPD.

FBI Violent Crimes Task Force detectives were searching for Edmunds Tuesday evening when they received information he was in the area of 1800 S. 700 East driving a green Saturn.

Officers spotted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop just after 10:20 p.m.

Edmunds was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail for five counts of first-degree felony aggravated robbery.

A statement of probable cause from the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office said that after being read his Miranda rights, Edmunds stated he robbed 12 businesses; five in Salt Lake City and of those five, two were banks. The statement said he used handwritten notes to commit the robberies that stated he had a gun.
