UTAH, Oct. 8, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Severe thunderstorms and flooding are possible in parts of Utah Friday.

“This is a marginal risk of severe weather again today across portions of northern and western Utah,” said a tweet from the National Weather Service Salt Lake City.

Strong, gusty winds over 50 mph, small hail, and heavy rain may affect Salt Lake City, Tooele, Wendover, Brigham City, Logan, Ogden, and Delta. Thunderstorms will go through around 1 p.m. then begin again in the late afternoon and continue through the evening.

In addition, a flood watch is now in effect for Zion National Park from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Expect a general 0.50-1.00″ of rain this morning into this afternoon, a NWS SLC tweet said. Flooding of slot canyons and normally dry washes is possible.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
