Police searching for sexual assault suspect in Taylorsville area

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, Aug. 16, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Unified Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying a sexual assault suspect in the Taylorsville area.

Several reports of sexual assault have been reported near or on the Jordan River Parkway between 4500 South and 4100 South in Taylorsville, the UPD said in a news release Thursday.

“The suspect has been progressively getting bolder with his actions and we would like to stop him from continuing,” the news release said. “He has been reported as grabbing or hitting females on their buttocks and vaginal area.”

The suspect has been seen running on the trail behind the victims and hiding in bushes with a backpack.

He is described as 20-30 years old, 5 feet 9 to 6 feet tall, an athletic/skinny build and black hair, officials said.

UPD is looking for any additional information on the suspect or additional victims officials have not yet spoken to; the police department phone number is 801-743-7000.

  1. This is absolutely infuriating!! SEVERAL VICTIMS??? I live right next to the trail. Just a few yards. Why didn’t the police let us know? So many young children and young mothers use the trail. The police should have let our apt manager know. ALL residents had a right to know. Just how many is several ? How damn long has this been going on??
