Shelter-in-place lifted at Granite Park Jr. High in South Salt Lake

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Feb. 6, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A shelter-in-place protocol at Granite Park Jr. High has been lifted after police searched for a suspect in the area, officials said.

Granite School District tweeted at 10:15 a.m. the school, at 3031 S. 200 East. had been placed under the protocol by police as they attempted to locate the suspect. That protocol was lifted by police 20 minutes later.

The first tweet added there was no direct threat to students, and the protocol was “strictly precautionary to ensure student safety.”

School proceeded as normal inside the building.

No further details were immediately provided by officials.
