Sheriff: 2 men, teen girl booked for assault, robbery after saying they wanted to ‘visit’ Sevier County residence

SEVIER COUNTY, Utah, April 18, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Two men and a juvenile female have been taken into custody following an  aggravated assault and robbery in Sevier County.

“On April 17, 2018, deputies and the Major Crimes Unit (officials) from the Sevier County Sheriffs Office responded to an aggravated assault, robbery in Elsinore that resulted in multiple arrests,” says a statement posted on the office’s Facebook page.

“The suspects went to a residence on a pretense of visiting and then committed the robbery using handguns to take money from the resident. The suspects then assaulted the victim with the handguns and then fled the scene. The victim reportedly lost consciousness during the assault.”

Deputies located the owner of the suspect vehicle while Richfield City Police Department located the vehicle at a residence in Richfield.

“Working together they were able to locate the suspects in the home in Richfield,” the statement says.

Arrested in the case were three Richfield residents. Ryan Carpenter, 22, and Shawn Booth, 21, were booked into the Sevier County Jail. The 17-year-old girl was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center, the SCSO statement says.

“There were two firearms recovered, one of them was stolen,” it says. “Methamphetamine and heroin were also collected as evidence from a residence in Richfield where the suspects were located.

All three subjects were charged with multiple charges, including aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, felony possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and other related charges.
Carpenter was also booked on multiple narcotics distribution charges that were unrelated to the incident.”
