MURRAY, Utah, Feb. 8, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for a suspect or suspects after an 18-year-old turned up at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray in serious condition with a gun shot wound to the leg Thursday evening.

Unified Police Department Lt. Paul Barker told Gephardt Daily that officers were dispatched to Pharaoh’s Smoke Shop at 3925 S. State St. on a report of shots fired at approximately 8:25 p.m.

“People inside the smoke shop heard gunfire, out in the parking lot, came out, saw a male that appeared to be limping,” Barker said. “He tried to get on a bus, then a car pulled up and picked him up.”

Three shell casings were found at the scene, he added.

The vehicle headed south, then showed up at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, with the teen who had a gun shot wound to his leg.

The people in the car that took him to the hospital are now being interviewed by officers.

“As far as who did it, who shot him, I don’t know,” Barker said. “Here at the scene, we just have the witnesses that heard gunfire and the shell casings.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Unified Police Department on 801-743-7000.
