SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 13, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Police arrested a Salt Lake City man in his 60s Saturday evening after he allegedly fired a gun during a reported domestic violence incident.
The man “threatened to throw (his spouse) out of a window during the argument,” says an arrest document filed by an officer of the Salt Lake City Police Department.
He “went into a bedroom in the upper level of the house and fired off a bullet from a handgun, which struck a wall causing damage. There were four minors in the home under the age of 18 during the incident.”
The man, whose name Gephardt Daily is withholding to protect the privacy of those who may have been victimized in the alleged incident, was arrested for investigation of:
- Felony discharge of a firearm, a third-degree felony
- Four counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child-weapon, a third-degree felony
- Property damage valued at $500-$1,499, a class A misdemeanor
- Threat of violence, a class B misdemeanor
The arrested man was ordered held without bail.
