SLC police searching for suspect after Family Dollar robbery

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 19, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly wore a mask to rob a Family Dollar store Friday morning.

A news release from the Salt Lake City Police Department said the incident occurred at the store at 857 N. Redwood Road at just after 11:20 a.m.

“A man entered the Family Dollar Store, grabbed an employee and demanded money from the cash register,” the news release said. “The employee complied and the suspect fled the store. The suspect threw the employee’s phone prior to leaving in a vehicle that was parked in the back alley.”

The suspect is described Hispanic, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing around 120 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, an orange beanie, a mask over his face and yellow gloves.
