SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Feb. 11, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly hit a man with a baseball bat during an altercation in Salt Lake City traffic Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred in the area of 300 E. 200 South just before 1:25 p.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.
“The victim was being dropped off from a vehicle,” the news release said. “The vehicle had stopped in a lane of travel and the driver of the vehicle behind took exception to the lane of travel being stopped.”
The suspect driver exited his vehicle with a baseball bat in his hand and words were exchanged with the victim, officials said.
“The suspect swung the bat and struck the victim in the left arm,” the news release goes on. “The suspect then got back into his vehicle and fled the area.”
The victim declined medical attention.
It is believed that the suspect has been identified but not located at this time.
