Salt Lake police searching for suspect who robbed man trying to get stolen bike back

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man and his friend were robbed at gunpoint Friday morning after they arranged to meet a suspect they say had listed the man’s stolen bicycle for sale.

The incident occurred in the area of 700 W. 900 South just before 9:55 a.m., the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

“A man found his recently stolen bicycle listed for sale,” the news release said. “He made contact with the suspect and made arrangements to meet and get the bike back. The suspect arrived on the stolen bike, pointed a gun at the victim and his friend and demanded that they give him their cell phones.”

The suspect then used a stun gun on one of the victims and fled the area.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, about 20 years old, bald with a slight beard and a chipped tooth. The suspect has a tattoo of a name on his leg and three dots on his left hand.
