Salt Lake police searching for suspect who drove with woman hanging out of vehicle

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 16, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police officials are searching for a suspect after an altercation outside a motel led to a man driving off with a woman hanging from the vehicle Wednesday evening.

The incident began outside the Alta Motel, at 1899 S. State St., just after 5:30 p.m.

“Officers observed a struggle between a man and a woman in a vehicle as they were leaving the Alta Motel,” the news release said. “The female was attempting to get out of the vehicle and the male kept pulling her back in. The male suspect then drove off with the female hanging out of the vehicle.”

The woman fell to the street, sustaining minor injuries. She was transported to a local hospital.

Officers initiated a pursuit, but terminated due to the suspect driving erratically. The suspect has been identified, but not located, officials said.
