LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah, July 13, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake County Sheriff‘s Office has identified a man killed Friday in Little Cottonwood Canyon when his westbound motorcycle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck an eastbound vehicle.
The man who died was Neil Munroe, 38. The collision happened at about 7:43 p.m.
Munroe died at the scene, according to Unified Fire officials. The driver of the other vehicle is cooperating with the investigation.
“Preliminary findings suggest that the motorcycle lost control while navigating a turn, leading to the collision with oncoming traffic,” the SLCSO statement says.
“The crash happened near the Iron Blosam Hotel at Snowbird, causing a temporary closure of the road for several hours.”
The Collision Analysis & Reconstruction (CAR) Team has been activated to conduct a thorough investigation, the statement says.
