SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 5, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake County Sheriff‘s Office aims to honor veterans by its building and Metro jail by adding some green lights.
Its part of Operation Green Light, which aims to honor the contributions made by veterans while alerting them to state- and federal-level resources they and their families might find helpful, says a statement issued by the sheriff’s office.
“We’re fortunate to have many veterans and active service members working in our Sheriff’s Office family,” said Sheriff Rosie Rivera, in a released statement.
Operation Green Light suggests everyone show support by changing one clear or white light bulb in their residence to a green bulb. If it’s an exterior bulb, it may even spark conversations about service and gratitude with friends and neighbors, the news release says.
Operation Green Light suggests displaying green lighting through Nov. 11.
