SLCPD seeks bank robbery suspect

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of robbing a bank in downtown Salt Lake City Wednesday.

The incident occurred just after 2:35 p.m. at the Zions Bank at 701 E. 400 South, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

Officials said the suspect went into the bank and demanded money, then exited the bank and fled in a blue Ford Explorer.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, in his early 20s, and was wearing a beanie cap and a dark face covering over his mouth. He also wore sunglasses, a black jacket and gray sweatpants, Ungricht said.

The Police Department asks anyone who may know the identity and/or location of this suspect to call 801-799-3000. Anonymous tips may be sent by text to 274637.
