SLCPD seeking person of interest in Salt Lake City homicide

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 1, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police are seeking information related to a suspicious death, now being investigated as a homicide.

“On Nov. 24, 2020 at 1:58 a.m., officers were called to a suspicious death in a field at 1075 S. Redwood Road,” said a news release from Salt Lake City Police Department.

“Detectives responded to speak with witnesses in the area and look for any evidence of a crime related to the death.”

The deceased man has been identified as Michael Paul Furbush, 31.

Furbush is believed to have been experiencing homelessness and was staying in the field with other people, the news release said.

“We are looking for a person of interest who was last seen wearing dark clothing and pushing a bike.”

“The bike had a child carrier trailer attached. The trailer contained a gray and red tent and a blue tarp. The male was last seen on Monday Nov. 23 at approximately 5:15 p.m. walking south on Redwood Road, then east on California Avenue.”
