SLCPD seeks persons of interest in homicide cold case

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two people that may have information about a homicide cold case from 11 years ago.

The homicide occurred on Sept. 10, 2007 at 1054 N. Victoria Way (1000 West), apartment 1, in Salt Lake City, according to a news release from the SLCPD. The victim has been identified as Maria Rosas Sanchez, 39.

The persons of interest police are looking for are Rafael Gutierrez, 43, who is pictured on the left and Guadelupe Jimenez Martinez, 42, who is pictured on the right.

It’s possible the two returned to Mexico, the news release said.

The Police Department asks anyone who may know the location of these persons of interest to call 801-799-3000. Anonymous tips may be sent by text to 274637.
