SLCPD seeks two ‘persons of interest’ in homicide of teen

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 23, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The Salt Lake City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in locating two men identified as persons of interest in the shooting death of 16-year-old Paris Gustin.

Police have identified Fortunato Nato Villagrana and Jonathan Ivan Padilla-Lopez as persons of interest in the July 5 killing of Gustin. The men were identified through tips from the public and the investigation of homicide detectives, according to an SLCPD news release.

Villagrana, 22, pictured on the left, is described as Hispanic, 5-feet-9-inches tall, 155 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Padilla-Lopez, 22, pictured on the right, is described as Hispanic, 5-feet-6-inches tall, 187 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes.

Gustin’s body was found inside a vehicle at 985 S. 1100 West after dispatchers received multiple calls of gunfire around 4 a.m.

Investigators believe the teen may actually have been shot in the vicinity of 600 N. 1000 West, where detectives discovered numerous shell casings.

Police are asking anyone who may know the location of Villagrana or Padilla-Lopez or who has any additional information about this case to call 801-799-3000.
