SLCPD urges caution during spontaneous ‘floods’

SLCPD video screen grab

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 13, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police are asking drivers and the public to stay out of floods. Even if they are unpredicted and sudden, and especially if they happen in the dark.

“Overnight, we blocked traffic while Salt Lake County Public Utilities worked to restore service after a water main break near 1186 N. Victoria Way.”

That’s in the Rose Park neighborhood, at about 1200 North and just west of Interstate 15.

“This is an important reminder: never drive or wade into a flooded street,” the SLCPD statement says. “There may be hidden dangers, especially at night.”
