ENTERPRISE, Utah, Jan. 9, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A small earthquake rattled parts of southwestern Utah Saturday afternoon.

The U.S. Geological Service reported a 3.3-magnitude earthquake at 4:06 p.m., 11 miles outside of the small city of Enterprise, in Washington County.

No injuries or damage have been reported.

The smaller tremors, like the one Saturday with a maximum magnitude of 3 to 4, are relatively common in the area.

According to the USGS site, the largest earthquake to hit southern Utah was a 6.5 magnitude quake that hit Richfield in 1901. Three 5- and 6-magnitude earthquakes occurred in Elsinore in the Sevier Valley in 1921, and a damaging 5.9-magnitude earthquake occurred in 1992 near St. George.
