DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah, June 18, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Big Draw Fire, reported a few miles west of Neola Monday afternoon, has grown to an estimated 500 acres, Utah Fire Info reports.
“Burned actively until 2:30 a.m.,” a 10:22 a.m. Tuesday update says, adding that “20-30 Neola residents chose to evac overnight based on possible fire spread; most back home now.”
The post speculated that cooler weather Tuesday should help firefighters with their efforts.
As of Monday night, no structures were threatened. Assets assigned to the fire included 14 engines, squad from Flaming Gorge module, three tenders and bulldozer.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Gephardt Daily will have more information as it is confirmed.
