SOUTH DAVIS COUNTY, Utah, July 7, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — South Davis County police agencies are coming together to thank residents for a safe July 4 weekend.

“The public safety departments of Bountiful dispatch, Bountiful police, Centerville police, North Salt Lake police, West Bountiful police, Woods Cross police and South Davis Metro Fire Service Area want to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the public for their diligence in making this past July 4 weekend one of the safest on record,” said a joint news release.

There were 24 firework-related calls with just one resulting in a fire, the news release said.

“It became evident early that our citizens listened and responded to our deep concerns regarding extreme fire danger, drought conditions and water conservation,” the news release added. “We are honored to be serving in communities where the citizens we serve make personal sacrifices for the greater good of the community.”

Salt Lake City Fire Department also thanked residents Tuesday after zero firework-related fires were reported over the July 4 weekend.
