South Jordan Mom’s Blood-Alcohol 3 Times Legal Limit In DUI Crash
SOUTH JORDAN, UTAH – June 1, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) A South Jordan woman is in jail after police arrested her for enhanced DUI and improper lane change after she hit a tree with all four of her children in the car.
South Jordan Police Department responded to a call of a single vehicle crash at 4353 West Lennox Drive (9433 South).
When officers arrived, they determined the driver of the vehicle, 36-year old Robin Lance of South Jordan, had been driving intoxicated with her four young children in the car with her, ages four, five, nine and 11.
None of the occupants were wearing seatbelts and suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention. Lance was allegedly delivering newspapers at the time.
According to police Mrs. Lance had been driving east on Lennox Drive and passed out while driving. The vehicle then drifted off of the road to the left striking several trees. The vehicle continued east and stopped against a phone junction box.
Mrs. Lance was determined to have an alcohol content of 0.30 (three and a half times the legal limit).
Mrs. Lance was booked into the Salt Lake County Adult Detention Center on charges related to driving under the influence with children in the vehicle, failure to maintain safe lane travel and no proof of insurance.
She was issued a warning for her seatbelt violation and for the children not being restrained.
