South Jordan officials: New tests confirm water safe

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, Oct. 23, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — South Jordan city tweeted Wednesday night that new tests confirm the culinary water is safe.

City conducted tests confirmed on Tuesday that the water was safe, officials said, but the results of an independent testing business — Chemtech-Ford Laboratories —  has now also confirmed that fact, the South Jordan statement says.

“The City has received the test reports back from Chemtech-Ford Laboratories and all samples have come back safe to drink and use. We still understand residents may have a concern with skin issues and we have been working with the Salt Lake County Health Department.

“If you would like to help the Salt Lake County Health Department gather information, please fill out the self report form and provide the information that the Salt Lake County Health Department needs.  Click here to report symptoms.

Concerns arose several days ago after reports of city residents with rashes, and a report that someone had bought a commercial test that detected the presence of Chromium 6, a potentially dangerous chemical that can cause skin irritation and even cancer with high exposure.
